Subject: Update on Daryl
Just thought I would give an update on Daryl. He was taken off all antibiotics and put on a high dose of pred, 2 ml 2x day. Within 3 days his sores had mostly healed up and disappeared! I mix the pred into his soup and he cleans up every last drop. I've lowered it to 1.5 ml 2x day, but have not lowered it further as he still has some sores around his mouth and his anus that have not healed up. Depending on the day, his poops are fine or they are very pudding-like. He also is rather boney -- and I would have thought with twice daily feeding, along with the pred, that he would start putting on a bit of weight. It's been 3 weeks now, I believe. Still have not received biopsy results from the second path lab. Thanks to everyone who emailed their support and concern and help! Daryl is definitely feeling much better, but is not back to being 100% yet. I have new pictures to post of his recovery to date. What a change! Will get them to the site soon.
