We've had occassions where all three needed something to rinse out their eyes and I wondered what would be good to have on hand and safe enough for ferrets, dogs & cats. Water just doesn't seem to work very well, I feel like we need something different.

I have used saline on ferrets eyes to treat a <gummy> eye.
I use about 50ml of warm water and slowly add small amounts of normal household salt until you begin to get a little more than a slight salty taste if you dip your finger in and taste (very scientific) however I have found this to clear up slight eye infections, usually after only 1 application. Use an eye dropper or a q-tip to apply. I would not persist with this treatment for more than 24 hrs if the infection did not clear.
