Subject: [ferrethealth] diahrea/soft poop/birdseedy question
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hi everyone,
My 4 yo male, River, has had diahrea/soft poop/birdseedy looking poop for about the past 2 days. He's eating, playing, drinking..etc all normally except for the poop situation. Yesterday (Sunday) I gave him a bit of the canned pumpkin, which helped and they were normal looking, but today without the pumpkin they're back to soft/diahrea looking. He eats a mixture of high quality kibble, Bob C's chicken gravy and turkey baby food (and along with some meat based treats). Nothing has changed in his diet.

We're in MA and its been pretty hot and humid here (although the ferrets have an a/c room). Could this have anything to do with it? Since he is acting and eating normal, should I have a vet check him out at this point? And if I should have him see his vet, he should run a fecal test first - is that correct?
Thanks,
Andrea
