Hi Lisa! We use Nature's Gaurdian. It is an all natural flea and tick spray that can be
used on carpet and such and is not harmfull to animals. You can get it at Wal-Mart in
the pet section and it does wonders. We used it on the carpet in our ferret room and
haven't had an ant in there since. Plus it is a lot cheaper and safer than an
exterminator.

[Co-moderator's Note: I tried going to the homepage to check ingredients on this, but
could not find such a product there. Remember that if it contains pyrethrins, which
many natural pest products contain, that there have been reports of poisonings of
ferrets at standard use levels, though it is safer than many alternative for ants. At least
one of the artificial ones can be very dangerous for ferrets; in fact, one was tested for
eradication uses in NZ. It will be best if anything used not be applied to the ferrets, or
to their use areas.]
