The insulin/glucose comparison can be misleading. The high insulin levels in ferrets with insulinoma can occur in peaks and have dropped to normal levels when the blood is taken but the glucose will still be low.
I nearly lost my first ferret, Sally, because the vet would not acceept that she had insulinoma as when tested her insulin was always normal with glucose at 25-40
