Subject: [ferrethealth] a human GI disease ferrets can get

In NJ right now there is a human GI making the rounds and last 1 to 2 weeks usually in people. We have found the hard way that ferrets appear to be able to get it, but are not badly affected. They get diarrhea but it resolves rapidly, and they slow down only a little bit as long as supplemental fluids and electrolyte sources are provided.
