having received some "What were you thinking/not thinking?" notes -- all hilarious ones, I have to add this:

I really DID learn something. He smelled adrenal to me WHILE the infection was raging but NOT since it has been controlled. I am wondering if a bad skin infection can cause enough of an increase in skin oil production to do that at the level of our own lousy scent detection.

(BTW, he is being watched in case there is some retained adrenal tissue which might be over producing hormones even though he still needs Fludrocort and Prednisolone. Hilbert had both adrenals inflamed by mechanical irritation from huge kidneys when he had bilateral hydronephrosis due to a combination of cystine uroliths and a bladder diverticulum, so when the repairs for those took place his adrenals largely came out, but a tiny part of the R wound up under an emergency vascular clamp placement.)
