I have two ferrets who are pretty much exclusively on syringe feedings. My
mixture is 1 can A/D, 1 jar Gerbers meat (usually lamb or veal), 1t Dyne, 1t
Ferretone, and 1/3 cup Pedialyte or water. Each ferret gets 40mL, 3 times a day
(120mL total). A/D contains taurine, .06% minimum (which is significantly
less when converted to dry). Are they getting enough or do I need to
supplement? How much? Any other nutrients I should be adding?

**When converting ingredients in canned food to a dry-matter basis, the
amount invariably goes up. The 0.06% minimum of taurine in the a/d would be a
much higher percentage if the water was removed. I don't have the ingredient
listing in front of me, so can't give you the exact percentage that it would
calculate to, but you have to remove the water content before you can calculate it
out. Once you've done that, you need to then assess whether it should be
supplemented further.**

I sometimes add 1T of Carnivore Care powder instead of Dyne. Is that a
better choice?

**IMO, Carnivore Care is a much better choice than Dyne.**
