Subject: [ferrethealth] swimming and ferrets; bone density and mustelids
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

I wasn't going to mention the swimming study here, but then I saw the
bone density one and there may be vets here who want that, so...

Swimming dynamic of ferrets:
<http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?
db=pubmed&cmd=Retrieve&dopt=AbstractPlus&list_uids=16861018&query_hl=6&i
tool=pubmed_docsum>

I asked if fat differences could play in since the abstract doesn't
mention that, but this certainly is not the first study he has done
of mustelids. Given that it is summer and many researchers are in
the field in summer there may be no reply.

Same primary author, Dr. Frank Fish, pdf of full article on mustelid
bone density:
http://darwin.wcupa.edu/~biology/fish/pubs/pdf/1991ZMBoneDensity.pdf

( You can look at differences in swimming with otters here (from the
same CV):
http://darwin.wcupa.edu/~biology/fish/pubs/pdf/1994JM-OtterSwim.pdf )
