Well, I guess that depends on how badly it strips away their healthy skin oils.
If there is soap or detergent in there then it might dry the skin too badly, ditto water that is too hot -- more so than plain water which is just warm or cool. We have and have had some swimmers and the only times we've allowed them to do this were when it was just plain old water and then it doesn't seem to make a difference.
