Unfortunately Pippin was put to sleep Sunday morning. He had rapidly deter=
iorated and Sunday morning he went into muscle spasms and was crying. Unfo=
rtunately my b/f chose not to do a necropsy, so we'll never really know wha=
t happened. The vet said that with the rapidity of his deterioration and h=
is age (5ish) that it could have been cancer. We think that it may have be=
en a brain tumor or something of the sort, he had lost control over his hin=
d end and the ability to control his bladder. He was in too much pain for =
us to prolong by treating him further. I feel guilt from not having done m=
ore to save him, but I'm not sure what else could have been done. He's fre=
e from pain now, even if we're not, so that's all that matters. He had sti=
ll maintained sensation in his feet and didnt' have a fever or heart condit=
ion. He was very cold on Sunday morning when I got him up to eat, he ate r=
eally well, then 2 hours later when I came back to feed him some water he w=
as in spasms. I don't know what else we could have done.
