Hi Ben, it is best to keep at least two ferrets as they play together
and it helps with cage boredom. My ferrets like tunnelling through the
shavings but make sure you buy pet safe shavings like "Snowfake" or some
other dried litter. Fresh wet or hardwood sawdust can be a killer. Plain
old newspaper is easy to clean and the ferrets love to rip it up. My
ferrets can dig in the ground so I don't clip nails but if you need to
it's best to do it weekly and only take the very end off. I give meat or
cheese as treats, nothing sweet. Don't flick the nose of a kit just
shout "no" and put the kit back in the cage and ignore it, they soon
learn not to bite as they love being played with. I would use
www.google.co.uk and look for ferret clubs or rescues as they would know
of ferret owners in your area. Chris.
