Subject: [ferrethealth] older fuzzy and I need suggestions for her
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com
I have a foster fuzzy that is older and she has many health issues. She has
insulinoma and adrenal, the double whammy. She's also blind. She takes 1/4
of 1 mg tablet of pred twice a day. Her appetite has gone down hill the past
few days, and so I've been giving her turkey baby food. It has less sodium
in it than chicken, so thought it would be healthier for her.
Today she fought me at every feeding. I try to feed her every 4 to 5 hours,
even getting up in the middle of the night to feed her.
I warm up her food, thin it down with water and I just don't know what to do
for her.
Any suggestions on how to make feeding time more of a pleasure than a battle
would be appreciated. I tell her she's a good girl and stroke her while
she's eating.
She usually is very eager to eat, but today was so different and I'm worried
about her.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Linda
