Subject: [ferrethealth] Bug spray safe for ferrets?
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

Hello,

We need to control an ant problem in the same space where our ferrets live =
and play. (I think they are called 'sugar ants' - small, red, eager to bit=
e me if I don't notice them in time ...) =

We purchased something called 'Spectracide Bug Stop - indoor plus outdoor i=
nsect killer'. The active ingredient is Lambda-Cyhalothrin ... 0.03%. The=
product specifies that 'people and pets should not be allowed in treated a=
reas until spray has dried.' =

We need to spray the baseboards and under the bathroom sinks where they lov=
e to curl up and snooze. Our plan was to spray and let it dry for 24 hours=

before allowing the ferrets to play in the area, but I'm having some second=
thoughts. =

Can anyone tell us if this product is safe, or maybe recommend a better one=
? I am 35 weeks pregnant, so any product needs to be safe for me and the
baby, as well.

Thank you,

Mary and the ferty muskyteers: Biz-kit, Sebastian, and Damian
