Dr. Sue,

Yes, it is .44ml of Amoxi. I thought I'd been careful in relaying the exact
dosage and mixtures, but obviously blew that one.

I've wondered about the possibility of a blockage, but since he's been
pooping on a fairly regular basis, my vet didn't think that was the problem.
Since I posted the original note two days ago, he's had two much better days
in a row with minimal grinding (usually only after meds or after a full
tummy of Gerber's chicken). I *also* noticed that he's pooped 3 times/day
throughout the day the last two days, where over the previous week, he's
been pooping much less and with much more time between poops (usually 1
time/day, much larger amount). I wonder if that's perhaps an indication
that there *is* a blockage? Friday evening, I gave him some Vaseline and by
Saturday morning he was doing better. Of course, we'd just began the
Prednisolone the day prior, so this could all be a coincidence.

We're taking him to another vet Tuesday for a second opinion (and yes, I
feel VERY guilty like I'm betraying our vet who has been WONDERFUL for all
of our ferrets, but I want to exhaust all options...), so I'll bring up the
hairball/blockage query and the barium mixture as an idea on how to better
coat the stomach.

Thanks for the feedback. Very appreciated.

Dale

[Moderator's Tip: When putting an amount below 1 start off with a zero to prevent
confusion, or people just plain not seeing the decimal point. For example, write
0.44 instead of .44.]
