Subject: [ferrethealth] Problems walking(Front legs)

Hai.
I have an albino ferret which i got earlier today.
he seems to be having some problems walking with his hind legs. I realize ferrets stay close to the ground when they're in new territory, but he seems to be playing and seems to be comfortable with my other ferret. This ferret is about a year old, and a little overweight.
He hops around instead of walking. He pushes off his back legs and drags or barely moves his front legs.
The previous owners let him out of his tiny cage rarely.
Could his condition be as simple as weak muscles/overweight?
