No, it rarely causes any problem. In our country it's actually illegal to
remove anal glands unless there's a medical reason (eg. re-occuring
inflamations). But no problem. Sometimes they use them but that's it.

You'll see. Before the testicles start to grow they're not always easy for
unexperienced owners to find. We do not alter hobs until the testicles are
big enough and the male goes into heat. It may be inconvenient because of
the odors and markings and sometimes the change in behaviour, but not a
problem, either.

>If he is unaltered, will this be a problem in the future ?
It depends on the individual ferret. Most of them try to treat other altered
ferrets as if they were jills, and they fight hard with other hobs. Some
become a bit more aggressive, but we usually see it between two hobs, not
with owner or other people. They leave their markings everywhere, and soon
all the guests who come into the house will know you have an intact male
because it's almost impossible to get rid of the smell. :) Of course, not
all males have strong odor, but the majority do. But it's rather discomfort
and inconvenience for the owner, not a health problem. One thing: we often
see accidents (sometimes serious accidents) while they are "practising" with
their toys as if they were jills..
After neutering, these problems are usually over within weeks.
