Being the unfortunate receipt of many needle jabs, I can tell you that needle dullness DOES translate into more pain. Not whomping amounts, but more than necessary considering you have the choice to use a fresh, sharp needle.

Ferrets are prey animals in their own right though they are predators to mice and rabbits, and prey animals instinctually do not show pain or weakness as they are the ones to be targeted and picked off first.
