I try to always give the mg/ml but unfortunetly, the meds come in bottles with my vet's computer generated label which states only the name of the meds and the sig. The only ones with names on them are the Lasix and pred because a small bottle is not practical when used long term. The Diazoxide is compounded so I do have that. The Lasix is BID .35 and is 1% (10mg/ml) furosemide. The pred is 5mg/5 ml .2 BID and Diazoxide is a suspension and is 20mg/ml .2 qd. The bottle with the bronchial dilator is labeled Theolate which I am assuming is the generic for Theophylline. As I type this I just realized I am having the Theolate compounded and the mg/ml is on the Diazoxide label (which the same pharmacy compounds) so it will be on the label and it is ready to be picked up. I can have that info tomorrow am.
I understand that an ultrasound is necessary for precise treatment and have done that in the past for the cardio kids I've had. He was doing very well and as we were on vacation, I haven't set that up yet.
<Albon is used for coccidia, an intestinal parasite. Why is the Albon being given? I do not understand why an enlarged spleen would cause Albon to be given. Are you sure it is Albon?
As for Albon, yes, I'm sure that's what it is. I've used it many times in the past 10 years for coccidia and general poop problems. My vet tells me that pred and Amoxy are not a good combo and he said that it was a good general sulfa drug and gave me some specifically for him. I personally don't think it does much good for anything but poop problems.
Earlicks and toebitings to all,
Trish
