We have had 1 ferret to get a tooth pulled and it had turned black. We
have always used the amount of discoloration to help age ferrets when
they come into the shelter. Maybe you should just start off with having
them cleaned, if there is a lot of dark spots on the molars as well.
Sometimes, how they were treated when young can cause excessive plaque
growth for them.
