I am very sad to say that after looking at the pics, I now believe they were burns. She was on a very old, thin towel and would change positions ever so often. Now I'm thinking she felt the heat and was trying to get off of it.

I noticed them 5-7 days after the ER visit while giving a sub-q lasix injection. In the beginning I thought the needles might be causing them but never found any marks in the centers. I even started giving the injections in the shoulder area just to be safe.

The centers felt leathery after a while and did take on a very pale, hardly noticeable, light greenish-blue tint, but I thought it might be hair starting to grow back.

She wasn't on her back so only had them on her hips.

I put Neosporin on them after 2 vets didn't know what they were (until the one finally said they looked like burns the day she was put to sleep) but stopped because it seemed to make them worse. Now I know why they were really starting to scab over.
Thanks for the info.
