Thanks Sukie so very much for all your digging and help. When I picked up the prescription it was for pred so maybe when he told me fludrocort he was thinking of something else. He seems to know a fair bit about ferrets and is willing to learn but for some reason he said that he preferred fludrocort to pred for insulinoma so I decided to check myself and maybe he did some checking too and decided that pred was the best after all. I don't like to argue with him cause he has the degree but this is my baby and I want what is best for him so I'm thankful he prescribed pred in the end.
Now I will check the dosage when I pick it up at the pharmacy tomorrow and check the archives to see if it seems right. Smog is a happy little soul and it's so scary when he has seizures. I do give him dextrose and then chicken soup and he seems to be okay after but it has to be hard on him.
The next time I talk to the vet I will ask him why he thought fludrocort instead of pred.
Again thanks for your help. It is much appreciated.
