Subject: [ferrethealth] melatonin implant in EU-help
To: <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

Recently, I wrote that we are looking for ways to get melatonin implants
into Hungary. It's OK, that Melatek would ship here, but as we have found
out it seems to be illegal since Ferretonin (or other similar implant) has
no registration number in Europe. And the problem is that no vet would
implant it fearing they would be banned from veterinary practise for doing
it -if it turns out. And it would turn out. :(

What I'm asking for is help from other European ferret owners how they can
get the implant legally? I know it's in use in many coutries, so I hope
there must be a way within the current regulations, too. I also know that
Melatek ships ready-to-use implants, but I would still be glad if it wasn't
me who should place it but a vet.

It's okay if you send info directly to my email. I know it's off-topic on
FHL.
And any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Nelli
