Subject: [ferrethealth] Soft palate inflammation
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

Hello:

One of my ferrets, Fyodor, has a reddish inflammation on his soft palate.
About three months ago my vet detect the inflammation while performing a c=
omplete cleaning of his teeth. He was succesfully treated with amoxicilline=
and clorhexidine, but about one month and a half, the inflammation returne=
d, the previous treatment don`t accomplised anything, so the vet changed it=
for a new one ((Stomorgil 2 kgs: composition: spyramicine -150.000 U.I- M=
etrodinazol -25 mg). Nowadays the inflammation have taken almost the entire=
soft palate, and is more reddish than ever.
Fyodor is a three years old sterilized male, about 1 Kg (2.2 pounds, I thin=
k) of weight. Here at home, he lives with other ferret, two cats and two do=
gs. He is vaccinated against distemper, and eat mostly soft food (chicken, =
and we brush his teeth daily).
Of late, he don=B4t eat much, don=B4t want to play and drink too much: I do=
n=B4t know if this is an effect of the antibiotic, that has caused him some=
slight diarrhea.
I'm writing from Spain, and my vets, the most ferret knowledgeables that th=
ere are in my city, and they don=B4t know what's happening with Fyodor.

Thank you for your help, and forgive my bad english
