Subject: [ferrethealth] Cardiomyopathy and kidney blood values
To: "FHL" <ferrethealth@smartgroups.com>

My ferret Gremlin, neutered, 7 years old, has been treated for
cardiomyopathy for 15 months. She has been on Enacard which has been
changed to Fortekor (Benazepril) recently. Her Frusemide dose is approx.
4.5 mg twice a day. She also gets a potassium supplement. She has had a
blood test and her kidney values were bad, Urea/ BUN was 25.3 mmol/l (range
1.9 - 7.49) and Creatinine was 187 umol/l (range <75). Does that mean she
is definitely in kidney failure or could the values be raised because of
dehydration and muscle loss due to the heart disease? PCV was raised at
0.61 % (range 0.43 - 0.55). Lymphocytes were low at 0.77 (1.7 - 2.9).
