I think ferrets can have allergies, just like any other mammal. Is he also sneezing and sniffling? If it's just watery eyes, I wouldn't think allergies, but if it's accompanied by congestion, maybe you could try giving children's Benadryl 2-3 times a day for a few days, to see if it helps. The dosage is 2mg/kg or approx. 1mg/lb. For a 2 lb. ferret, that would be 0.80mL (Benadryl is 12.5mg/5mL). If it continues, he might need a round of antibiotics for any secondary problems.

Definitely don't give the Benadryl without checking with your vet first, or if he is getting any other meds at this time (other than eye drops).
