Subject: [ferrethealth] Question about reaction to rabies shot

I always have my vet give my guys a shot of dexamethasone 20 minutes prior to them receiving their shots to prevent any reactions. Unfortunately, this past weekend, my girl, who is 4.5 years old, had a reaction shortly after receiving her rabies shot. It wasn't too severe, she started vomitting and had diarrhea for close to half an hour, before stopping. My vet gave her some sub-q fluids and oxygen just to keep her stabilized. She was fine afterwards and only had one episode of blood in her stool. I'm curious if anyone else has had reactions even with the dex given prior to the shot? Does anyone know if there is anything else that I can do next time to make sure she doesnt go through this again? Thanks!!
