In 25 years we have had only one ferret who had to have iso before a blood draw.
If the vet uses the exterior jugular, shaves if needed, and even (if wanted) uses a topical skin anesthesia to reduce the sensation of the prick it is no big deal at all. A treat can be given at the same time and then they barely notice it.
