Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Blaze not doing well
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

The first thing that I would suggest is giving your little one Sucralfate, aka Karafate my
spelling may not be correct. Give it to him at least 20-30 minutes prior to feeding. Be
sure to keep Blaze fed, this can be done by feeding him chicken or turkey baby food
either from your finger or from a feeding syringe you should be able to get from your
vet. Your Blaze needs at a minimum 1 tsp per pound of body weight 3x per day for
survival. Give him more if he will take it. You may have to scruff and stuff the first
couple of times but he will come to love the baby food. The baby food is soft and
easily digestible and although it is not recommended for long term feeding it will keep
one going through a bad time. You want to make sure that He stays hydrated and may
have to syringe pedialite or an equivalent.
Good luck and hope this is of some help,
Jim Foster
