Subject: [ferrethealth] Freaking out about hair loss

My ferret is losing hair around the base of his tail, he is sleeping a little more then usual, his urine has smelled strange for a few weeks, but his apitite and playing habits are normal. Unfortunately I am all two familiar with adrenal disease (had two ferrets who didn't survive it). We have had Kodo for a year now and we belive him to be 2 years old, so it's a bit of a shock. We are taking him to the vet ASAP but here is our problem: we are a military couple living in Japan. The military vet isn't trained to treat ferrets and the japanese vets aren't much better. I read that there are medications that can help, does anyone know of a vet that would be willing to do a phone consult (I'd call them) and/or send meds over seas. Thank you.
