Subject: [ferrethealth] Ferret HElp

Hello, I'm Jillian and I have 3 ferrets. Franklin who is the oldest 2 and a=
half, Goliath who is 2, Samson who is 9 months. I just bought Samson from =
a pet store where he was kept in a dirty cage for the first 8 months of his=
life. He is 3.8 lbs and a few days after i brought him home he beagn cough=
ing, almost wheezing. My vet put him on Benadryl and Antibiotics. He has go=
tten a little better but continues to wheeze. My other ferret Goliath was e=
xcessivly scratching himself, he scratched a patch of hair off of his neck.=
The vet put him on antibiotics and benadryl aswell. He took a culture of h=
is skin and it came back positive for a bacterial infection. My vet said th=
at the antibiotics should make him stop itching. The antibiotics ended on =
Monday and he contiues to itch, maybe a little more. I'm so nervous that so=
mething is really wrong. Blood work is 740$ which I do not have and with my=
school loans im not sure id get approved. Is this the usual amount for blo=
od work?? Has any one had simlar problems? Please help.
