Please ask your vet which gas was used for anesthetic.
Halothane is known to be not so good for affects on the heart,better to use isoflurane or best to use sevoflurane for less affect on the heart.

Isoflurane has less affect on heart muscle

Tests with sevoflurane show that there is even less affect on heart muscle than isoflurane or halothane

and a cutionary note, isoflurane affects blood chemistry while anaethetised so not recommended when taking blood samples <because it can temporarily depress the red blood cell values in ferrets and the hematocrit can drop up to 40%.>
