Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Lymph fluid filling abdomen
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

My ferret Sue was recently euthanised when she was found to have a hepatic hemangiosarcome during exploratory surgery to detemine the cause of a swollen fluid filled belly. It was also seen that she had a spherical 1/2" dia cyst attached to her pancreas, it was a perfect globe in shape and was completely white in color, it was attached to the pancreas by only a very small contact point. Due to the euthanasia no investigation of this cyst was carried out but it was not thought to be related to the liver problem.
I wonder if the white particles inside your Hana could be parts of a similiar cyst that had become detached and/or broken by some means, I do not have any information about the nature of Sue's cyst, its texture or solidity. It just looked like a white baloon. I don't know that if it had been broken it would have retained the curved shape or if the pieces would have just been shapeless or even liquid.

Tony, Sugar and Suki.
In memory of Sally and Sue
