Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: Honking like a goose
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com

On occasion a few of my kids will honk like that when they get a hair caught in their
throat especially around shedding season. We use a mix of petroleum jelly and
ferretone as hairball remedy and it seems to take care of the problem. This may not
have anything to do with your guy just another option to consider. What I am really
concerned with is you did not say if your guy had been diagnosed with insulinoma but
you said that his BG was 58. I am assuming that you mean blood glucose, if that is the
case, you should have him checked, it should be between 80 and 130 and at 6 1/2
years old insulinoma would not be unusual and it would also contribute to his "slowing
down".
Good luck,
Jim Foster
