Subject: [ferrethealth] RE: renal failure with low creatinine levels?
To: ferrethealth@smartgroups.com
This past vet post contains information to help with kidney failure, including dietary advice.
http://ferrethealth.org/archive/SG15335
and there are more in the FHL Archives from which this came to help you.
Be sure, too, to avoid raisins and remove any stashed raisins. For still unknown reasons (though many studies have been done with many possible causes eliminated) some ferrets go into kidney failure with those.
See most recent copy of "Ferrets" magazine for more details in a vet written article if you can to read an article from some vets who have treated such ferrets, and please notice that the number of raisins which might cause problems for some ferrets has been reduced from earlier estimates of the possible minimum number. Documentation of this occurring in dogs and cats can be found elsewhere. Some earlier info on this can be found in the FML archives
