Our vet can do titers but admitted (last year so things may have changed)
that there is still
not full knowledge of how to interpret titers in this case.

**We do have a pretty comfortable understanding, though, that a certain titer
level will be considered protective across species that are susceptible to
canine distemper. I, in association with the American Ferret Association, am in
the final stages of putting together a titer study to determing length of
protective titer development following vaccination. As soon as all the final
details of the study are worked out, they will be widely available. With any
luck, fairly soon we will have more answers as to how often vaccines truly are
needed, etc.**
