Kidney disease does cause ulcers in ferrets' mouths.

Some infections can as well, but that is more rare, if memory serves. We had one with an
ascending GI infection who did that: Sherman. He was very ill having that on top of IBD and
for a while was on about 24 doses of medications a day which pulled his through. (It's in the
archives, I think.)
