What is being done to try to find the cause?
There are a number of diseases ferrets can get as a group which cause diarrhea. The risk
levels of some vary with diet type.
When there is not a disease caught from food then coccidia (which often causes frank blood
-- red blood -- in diarrhea), giardia (which has at times been caught from aquariums and
home ponds as well as wild bodies of water), and other causes must be sought.
ECE does not usually cause bleeding but if secondary colitis results it can. For the best info
on ECE see

and the easy to search FHL Archives

The treatment needs to be appropriate to the cause.
