My ferrets have had diarrhea for a little over two years now. I give them pumpkin about every other week for 3 days in a row or more when it's the worst. We've sent off samples, set up cultures which the last one only showed yeast?? for some reason. It goes in cycles on most of them and hits pure water about weekly. The first one ever diagonsed has it almost daily. I don't know where else to turn. I had 6 ferrets and then adopted a set of 4. It came in with them I believe as none of my others had it til then. I've tried switching food, about 5 or 6 antibiotics from Amoxy, Flagryl, Tylan, chloramphenicol, Albon, and some others whose names escape me at the moment and have tried Panacur, Pepto, Immodium and Kaopectate. I am always on the lookout for any ideas!!! Mine have not lost weight and still play though not as much as they used to.

What is being done to try to find the cause?

There are a number of diseases ferrets can get as a group which cause diarrhea... [snip]
