To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

I found a potting soil with out chemical additives at a local garden shop
Peat moss is another option, but dustier.
My ferrets love the *dirt*, and don't seem to tire of it.

We tried rice, OK for a day or two.
Beans were better, but heavy for me to move.
Packing peanuts, boring.

Something about the dirt, especially moist.
I keep it covered from the cat, and replace it every couple of months, or
when it no longer smells fresh and clean.

A side benefit for me, it seems to help my allergy to ferrets, maybe helps
clean the dander?
