Subject: [ferrethealth] Enriching ferret play time hard to do?!
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

In a lot of cases you can move the toys to a different part of the room and
they think it is a whole new set of toys. In my case I just take the toy box
out of play room # 8 put it in Room # 2 and then #2 in #7 so on .. the kids
think they have all new toys and play things ... that is an easy fix to
enrichment. Brenda

Manajane,
I didn't take your comment or question as a can of worms. You asked a
logical question and you got a variety of answers. It is your choice as to
what you decide on for a dig box. As far as enrichment for your ferrets,
Plain old empty cardboard boxes are entertaining to the ferrets. Tape it
shut and cut a door and some half dollar size windows opposite the door for
a sleep box or a playhouse. Mine push golf balls through the house. Have
three ten foot plastic drain pipes for their use. Paper bag, plastic bags,
krinkle sacks etc. It boils down to what you think is best for them and you.

I can't believe what a can of worms I opened in asking about the
potting soil! wow. Needless to say, I have since removed the soil
from the dig box (they only used it once for about 20 min) because I
tend to air on the side of caution.
