Subject: [ferrethealth] luxating elbows in an 11 mon old girl
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I brought my little Izzy in to the vet earlier for an xray (long story
as to why). Anyways, in the process of her xrays we discovered she has
luxating elbows. Both legs. More pronounced in the left. I have never
noticed anything extremely weird with her gait...except that she hops
more than I am used to seeing with ferrets. She doesn't appear to be in
any obvious pain. Has two good 2 hour play sessions a day with running,
wrestling, and tunneling involved. Has anyone ever had a ferret with
this before? What did you do? I was told by the vets (they all had to
look at the xrays...pretty crazy) just to watch her over time and make
sure she doesn't appear to have walking problems or be in pain. I
intend to post the xrays on here if I can. They are digital xrays, and
right now I have a copy of the xrays in the medical file...we'll see
what I can do.
