Subject: [ferrethealth] Re: luxating elbows in an 11 mon old girl
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

We did surgery on a ferret that belonged to a referring vet in the
area last year. He wasn't very old, I think only 16 weeks old. She
believed that he got his leg caught somewhere in the cage and luxated
an elbow. We repaired it with a pin and then created bandage to keep
it immobile next to the body using Ioban( a 3M product that is an
antimicrobial drape material that looks like sticky, orange, saran
wrap). He tolerated it much better than expected. I know that she
just wrote it up as a case report for publication, but don't remember
where. I would have to look that up at work on Monday.
