I don't recall Sammy's meds being terribly expensive. My expense was
in the diagnosis. Apparently cryotococcus has to reach a certain
point before it will show up on a slide. We ran numerous tests on
Sammy in an attempt to get a diagnosis. He also went through several
rounds of antibiotics, etc. I probably spent well over $500 on him
prior to getting a definitive diagnosis.
