Subject: RE: [ferrethealth] ferret with extremely large abdominal tumor

The only thing I'm wondering about if it is a blockage, doesn't it
usually hurt when you palpate it. I do know that blockages don't always
hurt and hers doesn't

She ate some more on her own at about 11 this morning and she is
drinking some water by herself again. She's also urinated twice with no
difficulty.
I spoke to the vet who is on call and she said it could be a blockage
and since I now think she can survive the weekend for me to bring her in
tomorrow morning.

When we went to the vet on Thursday the vet told me to increase her pred
from 0.12 twice daily to 0.24 twice daily. Now I'm also wondering if this
increase is what's causing her to go downhill. I didn't give her any
pred last night and this morning I gave her 0.12 and now she's eating and
drinking a little. Does anyone think there may be some correlation?
She's always had a very sensitive stomach especially on pred.

I live in Groton in New London County. The two vets I know who are
supposed to be great are [Moderator's Note: problem here: we don't
mention treating vets by name when discussing a case so not knowing
if these are the treating vets the names have been removed.]

I think I can pay for surgery. She's worth it. I will pay just about
anything to make her feel well. I just, of course, don't want her to
suffer if I can do anything to stop it.
