Subject: [ferrethealth] Insulinoma
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Lucy (6.5 yrs) has insulinoma. She is on 0.2 of pred. She has been doing well although not
really eating her own food except every once in awhile due to the irritation of the pred. She
has been on Famotidine and Carafate (don't have the proper prescription name in front of
me) and metronizidal (sp?) which was given to her because she swallowed a small string
about 3 weeks ago.

She's been doing well about eating chicken baby food or duck soup and getting her fluids in.
Today she has not really eaten much and also feels rather warm. I just tried taking her
temperature but she's being a bit squimish so I wasn't able to get it.

I am quite a ways from my vet and she just looks lucy looks like she might be in pain. She is
eating a little bit of the duck soup. I have been getting 5cc's of water in her about every hour
on the hour. Been giving her her meds accordingly.

Besides rushing her to a vet emergency hospital - any other suggestions???

Need opinions quick.

Thanks - Karen
