I am so sorry to have to tell you this but she can watch you and her own mother and our Lord eat whatever and that will not make her want to taste it..
And quite frankly I wouldn't eat that crap either.. cat food - CANNED CAT FOOD... yuck.. SO if after you've tried everything else try boiling a piece of ckn or go to KFC or anywhere and buy a piece of baked if you can, otherwise fried ckn and grind it to a pulp in the food processor or blender.. this is best done with lots of broth and fat from the cooking process but canned broth will do. Make the ckn smooth and creamy then add about 1-2" strip of ferretvite. Blend that in until smooth and shove that into her mouth - tiny morsel glob by tiny morsel glob. See if she'll eat that...

Thank you. I am so unbelievably happy that she made it too!!!
I've tried everything but the oil idea; I'll have to give that a
try tonight. Nothing else has worked.
When I first tried giving it to her I made some "Gourmet Gruel"
as is found on the Ferret Association of Connecticut's website. I, of
course, ended up wearing all of it. I tried the ferretone she sniffed
and looked interested but as soon as she realized what it was she
refused to go near it. I tried getting her to lick it off of my
fingers...no luck. I then tried putting some on her gums despite her
not even allowing me near her mouth I think I may have gotten some in
that way. I've tried opening her mouth but she just clenches her
teeth and I can't get her mouth open. Yesterday the vet had such a
hard time trying to get her mouth open to look for ulcers as well.
My other ferret likes it and I'm hoping that maybe if she sees me
giving him some she might want to try it. I am not going to give up!!
You're right.. I don't want to know about tubes and pumps! LOL
All of this leads me to believe that maybe the prednisolone is
making her mouth raw and painful. Another reason why I asked the
question about insulinoma meds and their side effects.
Thank you,
Sheryl
