Subject: [ferrethealth] Force-feedings/assisted feedings
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com
I used to say force-feed them, but back then we actually force fed those that fought us... Best method that I found for actual force-feeding was to put the nutritional solution (baby food, duck soup etc) between the teeth and the cheek a tiny squirt at a time.
HOWEVER, I have since then found that gentle coaxing (and sometimes TONS of FRUSTRATION) is better than force feeding.. I now call it assisted feeding.. There's a diferent conotation with the words assisted feeding and frankly.. I will assist feed all day long but I will NEVER force feed again... and I pray no one ever force feeds me when I get there.
