Subject: [ferrethealth] Need help with my friends ferret
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com, ferret@groups.msn.com

Ok, I am not absolutely positive on all the details but here it goes.
Rascal is a 6 year old male ferret, that has Insulinoma and believed to have
Lymphoma too. He was not a good surgery candidate so the vet put him on
Prednisolone for the Insulinoma and started him on weekly doses of Lupron. The
Lupron is a liquid given once a week with his food.
I was a little confused with this, I have never herd of Lupron given for
Lymphoma or as a weekly dose with food.
The vet also put him on carnivore care to help boast his system, plus he was
loosing weight too. He mainly eats the carnivore care then his kibble.
(which is Marshalls)
Ever since he started the Lupron it seems he is going down hill. He is very
week where before he was active, not much playing but moving around and
getting up on things. Now he does not feel good and it shows. He seems to have no
energy. Poos are sometimes normal and sometimes very loose. He still eats his
carnivore care but not the kibble, he is drinking good too.
Does any one have thoughts on this. We are confused and my friend and I are
very worried.
When my Fiona started her lupron injections, he was sluggish for a little
while but pulled out of it. So I dont know if the chemo treatment does this to a
ferret at first or not.
Help please.
