What is seen in mink is EGE, a related coronavirus which may have mutated, creating ECE.

Ferrets on any type of diet have gotten ECE ***IF THEY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO A FERRET
WHO IS SHEDDING ACTIVE VIRUS OR TO THE VIRUS SOON ENOUGH CARRIED IN ON
CLOTHING***.

The same statement goes for EGE in mink. Some farms feed kibble, some don't. If exposed
to EGE their mink still get it, no matter which diet is used.

Not all causes of diarrhea in ferrets are ECE, of course.
